Lorraine Elliott visit & Leeton's first event

in Partnership Broker

Lorraine Elliott visited the Riverina on January 23rd in order to follow through the chain of events in getting produce donated to Foodbank to Sydney, and onto those in need.

Leeton WNWN held their first event in conjunction with her visit.  Many community members turned out to pick onions for Foodbank - from small children through to university students, and retired people - which was followed by a morning tea with Lorraine. Lorraine spent two days touring the area, and proceeded onto Griffith and Hillston from Leeton.

Waste Not Want Not

Waste Not Want Not (WNWN) is an innovative concept that has been a true Community Partnership in Hillston  (Carrathool Shire).  Due to the large volume of food wastage, WNWN was developed in order to save produce (which was deemed unmarketable due to minor factors such as weight and colour) to send to Foodbank, Sydney.  From here it is then distributed to 500 NSW Charities which run soup kitchens or distribute the food to people requiring assistance. Due to its success, WNWN decided to expand to Leeton. The initiative will encourage interaction between the Schools, Businesses and Community.

in Partnership Broker

Find out why Sam was the most booked and sort after youth motivational speaker in 2010...

We are hoping to bring Australia’s No 1 Youth Thought Leader to the Riverina region in the second week of Term 3 (25-28th July).  Is your school ready for Sam Cawthorn?  Are students ready to be Engaged, Inspired and Transformed?

GetSet Partnership Brokers are facilitating a visit for a couple of schools, and are currently seeking interest from other schools in the region who would like Sam to visit their students.  Sam Cawthorn is the 2009 Young Australian Of The Year for Tasmania.  Just recently he survived a major accident leaving him with a permanent disability, so he is able to inspire students to overcome what may seem like insurmountable problems …. because he’s been there!

We are excited to be able to offer you the opportunity to have Sam Cawthorn motivate and inspire your students! Sam will speak to Primary and Secondary students.  His message can change lives, and have a positive influence on future decisions and thinking that will affect student’s lives.

There is a powerpoint presentation you can download which will help your school make a decision (or you can watch it on slideshare website).
