The Importance of Staying Engaged in Education

in Partnership Broker

Students from Years 10,11 and 12 are invited to participate in a series of 3 Video Conferences presented by Fr Chris Riley, of Youth Off The Streets fame.

An inspired speaker and renowned social activist with a reputation for calling it how he sees it, Father Chris

will deliver three landmark lectures via video conference addressing the importance of education as an antidote to disadvantage and disability. Father Chris’s belief that all young people need to be provided with the opportunity to achieve their full potential will resonate with students in danger of disengaging from education.

As an adjunct to Father Chris’s lectures a series of short questionnaires will be forwarded to students to assist them in analysing their own plans for the future, where obstacles may lie, and how current programs being offered can help them overcome these perceived disadvantages.

Cynthia Fitzpatrick from the The National Disability Coordination Officer (NDCO) Program is facilitating these video conferences.  Registration information is here.

Note this module comprises 3 separate broadcasts. Schools are strongly urged to attend all 3 as they are designed to complement each other.   You will need to register for each date.

The presentations are interactive and limited.

Conference   dates are:  3rd & 17th June, and 1st July 2011 from 10am -11am.
